Cookie Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
What cookies and similar technologies Tolinks uses — and how you can control them.
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how visitors use the service. This Cookie Policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (local storage, session storage, and pixels) used on tolinks.in and pages hosted on it ('the Platform'), and how you can control them.
This Policy should be read with the Privacy Policy, which explains the personal data these technologies may involve.
2. Cookies We Use
We aim to use as few cookies as possible, and all cookies on the Platform are either essential, functional, or analytics — we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell data collected through cookies.
| Type | Cookie / technology | Purpose | Duration |
| Essential | better-auth.session_token (or similar) | Keeps you signed in to your dashboard and the ability to edit your page | Session / 30 days |
| Essential | CSRF and security tokens | Protects forms and account actions from cross-site request forgery | Session |
| Essential | consent-preference flags (local storage) | Remembers your cookie and theme preferences | 1 year |
| Functional | tolinks_referrer | Remembers which Tolinks page referred you when you sign up, so that page can be accredited | 30 days |
| Functional | tolinks_pending_handle | Carries the handle you chose on the marketing site into the sign-up and onboarding flow | Session |
| Analytics | First-party aggregate analytics (no third-party trackers) | We measure aggregate page views, referral paths, and performance to improve the Platform | Rolling |
| Analytics | Server-side request logs | Stored on our servers, not on your device; includes IP for abuse detection and is pruned routinely | Rolling |
3. Third-Party Cookies
The Platform itself does not set third-party advertising cookies. However, third-party services we use may set cookies or similar technologies on your device when you interact with them:
- Razorpay, when you open the checkout page, uses cookies and device signals required to process payments and prevent fraud.
- Cloudflare, as our CDN and security layer, may set its own cookies for load balancing and bot management.
- Google and GitHub, if you choose to sign in with those providers, handle their own cookies under their policies.
- Embedded content: if you embed third-party media (for example, a video) on your page, that provider's cookies may be set under their own policies.
4. How to Control Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the Platform to function; disabling them will break signing in and editing. You can control functional and analytics cookies in the following ways:
- Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and block third-party cookies, via their privacy settings. The 'Help' menu of your browser explains how.
- Local storage: the functional preferences above are stored in local storage; you can clear it from your browser's site-data settings without affecting essential sessions.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when our cookie usage changes or when the law requires. Material changes will be reflected on this page and, where appropriate, announced. The 'Last updated' date indicates the latest revision.
